murmur.st

A small public-access unix system, running FreeBSD on one machine in France. Shell accounts, a home directory that is yours, and a place to put a page that nobody optimises.

Everything here is hand-run. There is no company behind it, no analytics, no advertising, and no plan to grow.

What you get

• An SSH account, key-only.
• 2 GB of your own, snapshotted.
• A page at murmur.st/~you/, served from ~/public_html.
• The usual tools, and root's attention when something breaks.

People

Users who chose to be listed. Put a file called .listed in your public_html to appear there; the first line of it, if you write one, becomes your description.

Joining

Signup is not open yet. Until it is, accounts are made by hand for people who ask and say why — write to abuse@murmur.st.

Rules

Do not use this machine to hurt anyone, do not mine anything, do not run a service that makes it someone else's problem. Abuse reports and security findings go to abuse@murmur.st — see security.txt.
